If elected president in 2023, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that his administration will end fuel subsidies.

In a speech he gave on Thursday in Lagos at a luncheon for business owners called “Business Forward,” Tinubu said this.

No matter how long protesters continue, according to the former governor of Lagos, gasoline subsidies will be eliminated.

In a statement released by his media office and signed by Mr. Tunde Rahman, the presidential candidate for the APC said that Nigeria would no longer pay for neighboring countries to use gasoline.

“How can we be subsidizing petroleum usage in Cameroon, Niger, and the Benin Republic?” he questioned. “We will stop the subsidy, regardless of how long you protest,” he said.

But he said that his government would help the private sector grow and would be willing to work with its members.

“My government will work with the private sector to implement a large infrastructure renovation that improves company prospects, lowers overhead costs, and creates jobs that fuel additional growth and development through increasing consumer demand.” “This is the positive economic cycle that we want to establish,” he said.

In addition, he pledged to increase security in the nation and stated that if elected president, a number of steps, including hiring more military and non-military personnel, would be put into action.

“I’m dedicated to keeping Nigerians safe from violence and the dread of it. In the society I picture, terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry have no place. “We will start putting various things into place as soon as we get into the office,” he stated.
