The killings of police officers in the Ughelli area of Delta State have led to the arrest of nine individuals, as stated by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, during a management meeting of the Force on Thursday.

Egbetokun mentioned that the arrested individuals are currently cooperating with the force by providing valuable information that will aid in capturing the remaining suspects involved in the tragic incident.

The deaths of six police officers occurred at Ohoro Forest in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State on February 23, 2024, while six other suspects linked to the killings are still at large.

This unfortunate event coincided with the murder of 17 military personnel in Delta State who were on a peace mission in the Okuama community of Ughelli South Local Government Area, sparking widespread condemnation and outrage across the nation.
