Four adult males, three adult females, a girl child, and a boy child made up the nine victims who were found.

Nine people were killed after a 20-foot-long, loaded container collided with a commercial bus in the Ojuelegba neighbourhood of Lagos State.

According to investigations, the truck lost control and plummeted over the side of the bridge as the commercial bus was picking up passengers at the bus stop next to the Ojuelegba Bridge.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) personnel were among the first on the scene, and they ripped off the top of the bus and suspended a container to save a woman and transport her to the trauma centre.

The agency claims that efforts are being made to save the victims.

“A bus has been struck by a truck carrying containers at Ojuelegba, inside Fadeyi. Rescue and evacuation efforts are now underway, the statement said.

Although it has been removed from the minibus and is now sitting on top of it, recovery efforts for the collapsed container are still ongoing. As a result, traffic is still backed up at Alaka.

If you’re not stuck in traffic, please be patient or find another route.
