The legislator disclosed that their earnings for each month fall short of N1 million and, following the subtraction of taxes and other charges, only slightly surpass N600,000.

As a result of the increase approved by the Senate, each Senator now receives N21 million as their monthly operational expenses.

It has been alleged by former President Olusegun Obasanjo that the National Assembly’s members have violated the law through their establishment of extravagant salaries and benefits for themselves.

Furthermore, it has been revealed by the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) that each member of the Senate is entitled to a total monthly remuneration package consisting of salary and benefits worth N1,063,860.00.
