Nigerian politician Ibrahim Sumaila reveals that each Nigerian senator earns N21 million monthly, sparking public concern over government spending and political privileges.
As reported by Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, the Senator representing Kano South, a total of N21 million is granted to senators as their monthly operating allowance.
Sumaila disclosed that he earns one million every month.
During his interview with BBC Hausa Service on Wednesday morning, he spoke about various topics.
The legislator disclosed that their earnings for each month fall short of N1 million and, following the subtraction of taxes and other charges, only slightly surpass N600,000.
