A soldier in the Nigerian Army has been dismissed after being found guilty of engaging in a relationship with his colleague’s wife.

The Lance Corporal was dismissed at 231 Battalion in Biu, Borno State, according to multiple sources.

This action by the army is seen as a deterrent to others involved in similar acts that have become increasingly common in the barracks.

It is worth noting that the dismissed soldier had a history of misconduct and this incident was reported to the army authorities. The soldier’s actions are considered indecent professional misconduct and a violation of Sections 79 and 93 of the Armed Forces Act CAP A20, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

These sections prescribe both a jail term and dismissal from service with dishonor. It is important to mention that this dismissal follows the recent dismissal of two soldiers by the Nigerian Army authorities for stealing armored cables from the Dangote Refinery in Lagos.
