Concerned about the dissemination of false material on the internet, particularly about the Nigerian Army’s Direct Short Service (DSS) Recruitment Portal for 2023, the Nigerian Army has issued an alert.

The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, denied the veracity of the alleged recruitment portal in a message posted on NA’s X account, @HQNigeriaArmy.

The Nigerian Army (NA) has taken note of the concerning rate at which fraudulent online recruitment materials are making the rounds, especially with reference to the 2023 Nigerian Army Direct Short Service (DSS) Recruitment Portal.

The NA wants to make it clear that the phoney online publication was created on purpose by some dishonest people in an attempt to mislead the public.

“It is imperative to highlight that the fictitious online Direct Short Service Portal 2023 is a fraud and should be clearly avoided, given the potential harm this phoney online publication could do to the mental health of prospective candidates and the general public.

“The NA has already started taking action to find the people responsible for the bogus webpage. The public is therefore urged to notify the NA of any questionable recruitment portal or activity,” the notification stated.

The statement went on to emphasise the Nigerian Army’s dedication to upholding a legitimate and transparent recruitment process, and it added that the official sources of information about recruitment are the official Nigerian Army website (https://army.mil.ng) and reputable social media sites like Instagram (HQNigerianArmy), Facebook (HQ Nigerian Army), and Twitter (@HQNigerianArmy).

Nwachukwu cautioned the public to take the refutal seriously and to be cautious while attempting to find out information about the Nigerian Army’s recruitment procedures. He also recommended the public to rely only on these official sources for accurate and current information.
