Sheikh Ahmad Mahmoud Gumi, an Islamic scholar based in Kaduna, has stated that Nigeria continues to seek outstanding leaders to propel the nation forward.

He expressed the view that such leaders are those who would prioritize citizens’ welfare over accumulating personal wealth.

During an award ceremony hosted by the Sultan Bello Primary School Old Pupils Association (SUBOPA) in Kaduna to honor two members, Major General Abdulmalik Jibrin (Rtd) and Brigadier General Abdulkadir Gumi (Rtd), for their recent government appointments, he remarked, “Unlike some leaders in this region who prioritize only themselves and their families.”

He observed that Nigeria is in significant need of exceptional leaders to guide the nation. It requires individuals who are well-trained, courteous, and sincerely committed to helping others rather than pursuing their own interests. He emphasized that those with strong qualities and character should be encouraged into leadership roles.

Gumi stated that insecurity has greatly impacted states such as Zamfara, resulting in inadequate education and instability within certain communities.

The Islamic scholar praised the Zamfara State Government for appointing Brigadier General Abdulkadir Gumi (Rtd) to the Security Trust Fund Board and encouraged Nigerians to actively participate in developing their communities and the nation.

The Federal Government appointed Major General Abdulmalik Jibrin as the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Fire Service, and Immigration Board (CDCFIB). Meanwhile, Brigadier General Abdulkadir Gumi (Retired) was designated Chairman of Zamfara State’s Security Trust Fund Board.
