Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is a selfless and steady leader who has spent almost his whole life serving Nigeria.

In a message of congratulations on President Buhari’s 80th birthday, Tinubu paid praise to him.

In a statement sent by his media assistant, Tunde Rahman, on behalf of Tinubu, the president was praised for his dedication to nation-building and many years of patriotic service.

The APC presidential candidate added that President Buhari enlisted himself in the service of the nation as a teenager who joined the military right after secondary school. He called Buhari “a patriot, a selfless and unwavering leader of extraordinary fervor.”

At the age of 80, President Buhari, according to Tinubu, can look back on his military career and be proud of his spotless record of service to the nation as a soldier, platoon commander, general officer commanding, military governor, minister of petroleum, head of state, chairman of the petroleum trust fund, and as the country’s current leader.

“I really want to congratulate my president and leader, Muhammadu Buhari, on the historic and wonderful occasion of his 80th birthday.

President Buhari, a soldier and a gentleman, has committed nearly his entire life to serving Nigeria. He is a selfless and steadfast leader with exceptional energy.

“Our nation is fortunate to have this outstanding individual and committed public servant at this time. At every duty station, President Buhari has served Nigeria admirably and with unquestionable integrity. His contributions to the development, harmony, and stability of Nigeria will be well remembered by history, which will write volumes about him.

“As a people, we are incredibly fortunate to have a president who considers the chance to serve his people to be the highest honor, a duty he has always carried out with the utmost dedication.”
