Niger-bandits murder kill the local chief and kidnap other people
Zazzaga’s village chief, Mallam Usman Sarki, was shot and killed by bandits in Niger State’s Munya Local Government Area.
On Tuesday night, there were reportedly bandit attacks on Zazzaga and other communities.
Unknown numbers of other farmers, including women, were reportedly taken as well.
According to a source who requested anonymity, “the attack was carried out on Tuesday night. They abducted numerous people while shooting Mallam Usman Sarki, the village head of Zazzaga, dead. We are unable to provide a precise count of those taken away at this time. They stole a lot of our cattle as well.
According to a another report, “I don’t know how many people were taken from neighbouring villages because the invasion happened at night. Everyone then hid in a bush. But they were able to abduct a large number of people. Seven individuals, including women, were abducted during the attack in Kutara, a nearby village to Zazzaga, where I was born. I only have that number in mind. They disturbed our cattle as well.
