NIDCOM applauds Tinubu’s action over the UAE visa ban

The prompt action taken by President Bola Tinubu and the leadership of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that led to the easing of the visa ban on Nigerians has been praised by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, or NIDCOM.

In a statement issued by the Head of Media and Public Relations, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the Chairman/CEO of the Commission, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said that thanks to this historic diplomatic success, Nigerians working in the UAE who had been unable to renew their work visas can now breathe a sigh of relief.

According to the head of NIDCOM, this action will mark the beginning of a new era of cooperation and friendship between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates.

She claimed that in addition to the ban being lifted and flights returning to Nigeria, the bilateral talks also provided a solid groundwork for significant investments in a number of different industries in Nigeria.

The NIDCOM Chairman advised them to keep acting as excellent ambassadors for the nation after receiving a barrage of calls from delighted Nigerians residing in the UAE.

Over a year ago, a diplomatic dispute erupted between the two nations as a result of several unsolved issues that had caused Nigerians travelling and residents of the UAE much pain.
