New Twitter CEO criticized for links to the WEF

Elon Musk’s chosen successor Linda Yaccarino is the head of the World Economic Forum’s media taskforce.

Linda Yaccarino, who will soon take over as CEO of Twitter, has come under fire for her important role at the World Economic Forum, an annual gathering of business and political leaders in Davos, Switzerland. Following the revelation on Friday that she would oversee business operations on the site, she has also come under fire for her work with US President Joe Biden’s administration.

Yaccarino, who formerly oversaw NBCUniversal’s Advertising Sales division, also holds the position of executive chair of the Taskforce on the Future of Work at the WEF. She is a senior member of both the forum’s Value in Media Initiative and the Steering Committee for the Governors of the Media, Entertainment, and Cultural Industry. Her WEF responsibilities are still active on her LinkedIn account as of Saturday, despite the fact that she left her job at NBC on Friday.

Yaccarino also serves as the chair of the Ad Council, a significant organization representing the advertising business. In 2021, she worked with the White House to promote the Covid-19 vaccination through a public relations campaign with the catchphrase “It’s up to you,” which would later become ironic given the Biden administration’s tilt toward forcing the shots.

The apparent globalist background of Yaccarino alarmed Twitter users, who shared a video from last month of her pleading with Musk to make Twitter a more advertiser-friendly environment. In the video, she pressures Musk to reinstate the platform’s advertising influence council, a quarterly gathering of Twitter executives and the top thirty advertisers, and she tries unsuccessfully to get him to commit to quit “tweeting after 3am.”

Musk apparently only convened the advertising committee once after becoming CEO in November. Since then, he has not done so. Following the takeover, Twitter lost many of its advertisers, allegedly as a result of his relaxation of the rules governing content control.

In recent years, the WEF has been the subject of ferocious speculating. In his 2020 brochure “The Great Reset,” founder Klaus Schwab outlines how the Covid-19 pandemic might be used to spark the transformation of conventional cultures into a worldwide technocratic utopia (or dystopia, depending on your perspective).

Despite his on-again, off-again position as the richest man in the world, Musk has publicly dissed the WEF, claiming he was invited last year but chose not to participate, and calling the gathering “an unelected world government that the people never asked for and don’t want.”

People on Twitter flooded Musk’s timeline with inquiries regarding his choice of CEO, wanting to know why the self-described opponent of the “woke mind virus” had chosen a “WEF puppet” with a track record of endorsing “diversity, equity, and inclusion” and other establishment canards.
