Legendary Manchester United player Gary Neville has named Red Devils star Kobbie Mainoo as a player Pep Guardiola would want in his squad. Mainoo plays for Manchester City.

Neville made this comment on Mainoo’s performance during Man United’s 3-0 Premier League victory over Everton on Sunday at Goodison Park. The 18-year-old midfielder appears to be a Man City player, according to Neville.

Remember that on Sunday, Man United defeated Everton owing to goals from Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Alejandro Garnacho, and Mainoo received his first-ever Premier League start.

After the game, captain Bruno Fernandes named him the team’s Man of the Match for his outstanding performance at the centre of Man United’s midfield.

“Mainoo has left here at Goodison Park, in an environment that could have been as hostile as it has been for many a year, and he looked class,” Neville said to Sky Sports.

“The greatest honour I can give him—and believe me, it aches to say this—is that I hope people will interpret this appropriately. He had a Manchester City player’s appearance.

Sincerely, when I watched him, I couldn’t help but think that Pep Guardiola would be considering him and saying, “I want him in my midfield; that’s what my midfield players do.”
