NCC plans to highlight domestic telecom accomplishments at the NTICE 2023 Expo
At the second Nigerian Telecommunications Indigenous Content Expo (NTICE 2023), the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) plans to highlight successes thus far in the promotion of indigenous content in the telecommunications industry.
The event is slated to take place in Lagos, at Victoria Island’s Landmark Centre, from August 22–24, 2023.
The Commission announced that it is organising stakeholders for a great excursion in response to a very impressive performance at the event’s inaugural edition last year. The theme of the event is “Harnessing Indigenous Content for Economic Growth: Networking to Boost Investment.”
The National Policy on the Promotion and Implementation of Indigenous Contents in the Telecommunications Sector (NPPIC) was overseen by the Commission’s Nigeria Office for Developing the Indigenous Telecom Sector (NODITS), which is in charge of coordinating the NTICE.
Participants from a variety of industries are welcome to exhibit their goods and services, creative solutions, and cutting-edge technologies at the Expo, including domestic telecom operators, manufacturers, regulators, government organisations, policymakers, innovators, industry leaders, startups, other players in the telecom ecosystem, academics, and international experts.
The Nigerian Communications Act (NCA) 2003 gave the NCC the authority to promote local and foreign investments in the Nigerian communications sector, introduce novel services and procedures, as well as encourage Nigerian participation in the ownership, control, and management of communications companies and the growth of the manufacturing and supply sectors for communications.
As part of the Federal Government’s effort to diversify the economy, NTICE 2023 is being organised in accordance with the current requirements of the NCA 2003 and to promote the four focal areas of the NPPIC, which are Manufacturing, Service, People, and Research and Development for innovation.
The 2023 Expo is planned to exhibit the government’s successes with indigenous content for the industry and provide participants with a stage to display their goods and services, creative fixes, and cutting-edge technologies.
