Zack Orji, the ill Nigerian actor, has not been admitted to the National Hospital in Abuja and is not expected to be moved to a private hospital in the capital.

According to a statement the hospital’s spokeswoman Tayo Haastrup issued on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, the actor’s family made the decision to transfer him to a different facility.

To correct the record, National Hospital Abuja stabilised the actor, who was taken in on New Year’s Eve and admitted to the intensive care unit, before transferring him to the ENT ward.

He was moved to the orthopaedic ward later in the day, where our surgeons started getting him ready for surgery.

On January 1, 2024, the patient’s family did, however, sign a document titled “Leaving Against Medical Advice.” This put a stop to any plans for his procedure.

“But National Hospital Abuja’s administration wishes him a quick recovery.”
