The Nigerian Air Force conducts precision airstrikes on bandit camps in Zamfara, neutralizing key leaders and disrupting criminal operations in the region.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully executed a series of airstrikes on bandit camps in Zamfara State’s Tsafe Local Government Area, killing several bandits including prominent leaders Ado Aliero and Dan Umaru.

The airstrikes, carried out by the air component of Operation Fasan Yamma, were part of continued efforts to address insurgency and banditry in Nigeria’s northwestern region.

According to the counterinsurgency publication Zagazola Makama, intelligence sources have confirmed that the operation considerably disrupted the bandits’ activities, neutralized key targets of high value, and demolished essential planning centers utilized for orchestrating attacks.

During the operation, one of the targeted locations—bandit leader Dan Umaru’s residence—was reportedly engulfed in flames, dealing a significant blow to the criminal network.

This attack comes after a string of successful military operations, such as the killing of notorious bandit leader Kachallah Buzu in Zamfara by Operation Hadarin Daji forces in September.
