Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, the Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) London, has expressed his support for the N15tr 700-kilometre Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project initiated by the Federal Government, emphasizing its critical importance.

He highlighted the economic significance and strategic location of the road project, noting that a significant portion of business activities in Nigeria are concentrated in Lagos, with the Southwest, South-South, and South-East regions serving as the country’s wealth hubs.

Ashimolowo underscored the urgent need for improved infrastructure in these regions, particularly the completion of the coastal highway to alleviate traffic congestion on the Lagos-Ibadan and Lagos-Ore expressways.

He emphasized that the successful implementation of the project would facilitate the efficient movement of goods and people, fostering rapid growth and development in the Southern region and beyond.

Speaking to journalists in Abeokuta after delivering a sermon at a birthday celebration event, Ashimolowo urged the Federal Government to prioritize the repair of existing dilapidated federal roads alongside the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project.

He also recommended cost-cutting measures and the adoption of Keynesian economic principles to generate funds for assisting the less privileged and promoting economic stability in the country.
