Three-quarters of the Ajah Division staff have been relocated to other parts of the state as part of efforts to reduce the number of police-related fatalities in Lagos.
Abiodun Alabi, the Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, confirmed the news and said that the move is a standard one for employees who have worked in the division for more than three years.
He went on to say that people who are affected are sent to other places to deal with problems and learn more, especially since there is an election coming up in 2023.
The action follows claims of alleged extrajudicial killings by division officials. A few weeks after the murder of Gafaru Buraimoh on December 7th, 2022, a divisional officer is accused of killing Barrister Bolanle Raheem.
