The Gombe State government, under the leadership of Governor Inuwa Yahaya, has introduced a mandatory monthly sanitation initiative aimed at promoting environmental cleanliness and sustainability throughout the state.

The initiative, approved by Governor Yahaya, is scheduled to take place on the last Saturday of every month, with the inaugural session set for April.

Mohammed Fawu, the Commissioner for Water, Environment, and Forest Resources, emphasized the significance of the exercise in a memo released on Tuesday, urging residents to participate actively in cleaning up their surroundings to create a healthier living environment.

The sanitation exercise, scheduled from 8 am to 10 am, is part of the government’s commitment to providing a sustainable and safe environment for all residents.
