Ministerial positions: Group applauds Tinubu and believes female nominations are important
Young Moms Support Initiative CEO Dr Vivian Obiageli Sonny-Nsirim has applauded the seven women named to President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial list.
In a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja, Sonny-Nsirim, the Ugochinyere 1 of Igboland and Madubia of Uke kingdom, characterised the nominations as honourable.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Young Moms help Initiative is a Non-Governmental Organisation that seeks to help and empower women and children for a better society.
NAN further claims that the organisation gave birth to the largest online network of young women, the Young Moms Forum, which has more than two million active members worldwide.
Sonny-Nsirim, who congratulated the seven ladies, said the win was for all women, especially those who had aspired to the same positions.
She, on the other hand, stated that it would motivate other women to enter the political sphere, while also urging the nominees to set a good example in their political journeys and carry women along with them, particularly in their varied locales.
“This is an assurance that the nation would benefit enormously from the wealth of experience and depth of knowledge that the seven female ministerial nominees would bring to government.”
“As a group, we are overjoyed and fulfilled that seven young, intelligent, and exceptionally hardworking women made the ministerial list.”
“This accomplishment has strengthened our conviction that the future is now.” “These women are our shining lights, and by the grace of God, they will remain so,” she remarked.
Sonny-Nsirim, who also works as a development and empowerment advocate for women and children, expressed optimism that the nominated women will bring everyone along and offer more opportunities for other women to attain their goals.
She encouraged Nigerians to give them their full support so that they could succeed in their new national duty.
“We would also like to thank our father, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for keeping his promise of 35% affirmation for women.”
“We believe that more women will be appointed in every area of this administration in the future, and we pray for peace and unity in our country Nigeria.”
“It is our prayer, therefore, that God, who made the victory possible, will not only keep them but will continuously give them good health, guide and guard them,” she said.
Sonny-Nsirim advised the nominees to use their positions to draw progress for women and Nigerians in general.
She warned them not to betray the president’s and APC leadership’s trust in them. (NAN)
