Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president, has received praise for his unwavering support of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
George Aluo, an Executive Board member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has praised the administration of President Bola Tinubu for providing the federation with unwavering support.

Aluo stated that the federation has not had it so well as this in recent memory in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

Aluo stated, “I will say that we at NFF have not lacked support from the Tinubu administration.” “The President gave the Super Eagles tremendous support at the Nations Cup, approving all of the requests for NFF that the Minister of Sports Development brought to his attention.

It was astounding to witness the Federal Government pay off all of the NFF’s debts following the Sports Minister’s meeting with the President.

He continued, “The President also ensured that all bonuses and backlog arrears were paid out.”

Aluo called Tinubu a “sports-friendly president” and praised him for his support of sports.

According to the board member, who is also the Nigeria National League (NNL) Chairman, Tinubu’s backing of the NFF enabled the national side to get that far in the Cote d’Ivoire competition.

He clarified that the bonus issue, which had historically been problematic and seriously distracting, had not been encountered.

“I recall that in order to pay the player bonuses during our World Cup trip to Russia, the Government had to scramble at the last minute to organise a fire brigade.”

He went on, “We did not have such a situation in Cote d’Ivoire and to this extent I will say kudos to the President,” adding that the NFF’s current biggest obstacle was the absence of matching support from businesses and private citizens.

He claimed that sports in general and football in particular were huge industries that the government shouldn’t be left to finance alone.

According to the chairman of the NNL, the government should foster an atmosphere that makes it simple for businesses and individuals to support one another.

“I am aware of a Federal Government policy that guarantees a return on investment for investments made in sports.

“Under Sunday Dare, the former Minister of Sports, he was able to make sports a profitable industry by talking to the federal government.

“Since that regulation was passed, no corporate entity will claim that it is funding sports development without receiving a tax refund.

Aluo stated, “I believe that this development has created an enabling environment by the federal government, and it is now the responsibility of corporate Nigerians to tap into it.”

Aluo expressed his gratitude to NFF President Ibrahim Gusau for his unwavering commitment to ensure the success of football in the nation.
