The current Minister of State for Defence and former Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, is facing allegations of misappropriation of N70 billion funds.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has stated that they will not ignore these allegations and will thoroughly investigate the matter.
During a protest by the Zamfara Alternative Forum (ZAF) at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, the Acting Director, Public Affairs, Wilson Uwujaren, emphasized that nobody is exempt from the law and that the EFCC Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, will personally review and revisit all high-profile cases, including this one.
Uwujaren assured the protesters that the case will not be overlooked and that appropriate action will be taken in accordance with the law. The EFCC firmly believes that no one should be above the law, and they are committed to ensuring justice is served.
