Martin Keown, a former player for Arsenal, criticised defender Rob Holding for letting Erling Haaland “strut around” in Wednesday’s 4-1 loss to Manchester City in the Premier League.
He said that Holding lost his fight with the striker because he couldn’t hold the Norwegian from “the very first challenge.”
Pep Guardiola’s team beat Arsenal 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Citizens are now in charge of the race for the title because they have closed the gap on the leaders to just two points and have two games left to play.
Holding has been put in to replace William Saliba, who will be out for the rest of the season, but he had a rough night in the big match.
“That fight was lost by Holding. The first goal they give up is in the very first task.
“You have to put down your mark, you have to be physical, and you might want to take a booking. “But Haaland is just walking around the pitch like it’s nothing,” Keown said on BT Sport.
