Married woman taken into custody for fake abduction, dividing ransom money with partner

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have apprehended a pregnant woman who staged her own abduction and demanded a ransom of N2 million from her husband.

It was discovered that she colluded with her suspected boyfriend to share the ransom money. FCT Commissioner of Police Benneth Igweh disclosed that the husband complied with the demand and transferred the money into his wife’s account.

After her release, she was brought to the police station where she confessed to conspiring with a man named Walter Ezeala to extort money from her husband.

Walter was subsequently arrested and confessed to receiving N800,000 from the ransom. The police recovered cash, ATM cards, and phones from them.

In a separate incident, the police also arrested a man who faked his own kidnapping to test his girlfriend’s loyalty.
