The possibility of signing 16-year-old striker Chido Obi-Martin is being explored by Manchester United, as he has just completed his schooling at Arsenal.

According to a report from the Athletic, Obi-Martin paid a visit to United’s Carrington training facilities earlier this week and preliminary talks are currently underway.

Obi-Martin was offered a scholarship contract by Arsenal, with the promise of transitioning into a professional deal when he turned 17. The offer was deemed fair by the club.

Nevertheless, even though the talented striker has decided to consider alternative prospects and is capturing attention from numerous clubs, it should be noted that Manchester City is not among them.

Having joined Arsenal in 2022 from Danish club KB, Chido Obi-Martin has demonstrated exceptional skills across multiple youth levels.

Having played as a junior footballer for both England and Denmark, he showcased his exceptional scoring ability by netting 10 goals during Arsenal’s under-16s match against Liverpool in November. The final score of the game was an impressive 14-3 victory in favor of Arsenal.

He maintained his outstanding performance by scoring four goals against Crystal Palace and Fulham each, five versus West Ham United, while also striking seven times during an under-18s match against Norwich City.

Chido Obi-Martin’s tally for the under-18s last season was 29 goals in just 17 league matches.

Obi-Martin made a notable international contribution to Denmark’s journey towards qualification for the 2024 UEFA European Under-17 Championship by achieving two goals in three group stage matches.
