LP calls on FG to reconsider the increase in electricity tariffs, highlighting suffering of Nigerians
The Labour Party (LP) has urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to reconsider its decision to raise the tariff for certain electricity consumers in the country.
Mrs. Olubunmi Odesanya, the Lagos State Publicity Secretary of the party, expressed her concerns about the “astronomical” increase in tariff, stating that it is unreasonable and causing significant hardship for many Nigerians.
She emphasized that if the government had any valid reasons for increasing tariffs, it should not exceed 25 percent. Odesanya highlighted the daily struggles faced by Nigerians and stressed that the government should prioritize the well-being of its people.

he called for a reconsideration of the substantial hike in electricity tariff and urged the government to focus on reducing the cost of governance instead of removing subsidies.
