Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, is upset about a crash that happened outside of a South London club where Ahmed Ololade, also known as Asake, was performing.

A large number of fans who did not have tickets reportedly tried to force entry into the arena during Asake’s sold-out Thursday concert at the O2 Academy Brixton, forcing the artist to end the show.

Eight people were sent to hospitals, while two more who had less severe injuries were treated on the spot, according to a police report.

Asake apologised to his followers and anyone else who was hurt by the break-in in a statement he posted on Instagram on Friday.

“My heart is with anybody hurt last night or who caused any kind of anguish,” he added. I wish you a speedy recovery. Additionally, I am in the process of contacting specific people. I still don’t have the entire explanation of what caused the commotion at the Brixton Academy entrance, whether it came from the venue or the management.

The Mayor tweeted on Friday in response to Rebecca Ikumelo, one of the victims who passed away in the hospital, saying, “I am grieved by the tragic death of Rebecca Ikumelo, who has very unfortunately passed following the awful events on Thursday night in Brixton.”

“I continue to think of everyone impacted by this terrible occurrence. The investigation into what occurred must be finished as soon as feasible. To ensure that something similar doesn’t happen again, City Hall is in touch with venues and authorities throughout London.
