Linda Ikeji, a well-known media personality, has advised young women to pursue financial success as opposed to depending on males to provide for their financial requirements.

She pointed out that wealth is not a “birthright” exclusive to men.

The single mother clarified that she would prefer work for financial independence than rely on a partner.

Ikeji posted this on her Instagram page: “Dear young lady, I hear you! You are free to live your life that way if that is how you choose to view it! Everybody to their own. Personally, I’d prefer to have the same wealth as those men who have to pay me for my beauty. Wealth is not something that only males are born with. Rather than waiting for their handouts, I’d want to be their contemporary.

“I know a lot of people think it’s a man’s world; well, maybe it is, but women can rule and prosper in it if they have courage, strength, willpower, and grace. Thus, I would rather start early to fight for my dreams, grow my business(es), smash limits, and, if God allows, shatter tables, rather than waiting for men’s compassion.

She counselled women to aim to equal or surpass their spouses’ wealth.
