In a viral video, the victim is shown being slapped, hit, and dragged by the armed police officers who have been identified as being stationed at Agege Abattoir Police Station.

In the Oko-Oba slaughterhouse neighborhood of Lagos, police officers from the Lagos State Police Command of the Nigerian Police Force violently attacked and brutalized a guy for refusing to allow a search of his cell phone.

In a viral video, the victim is shown being slapped, hit, and dragged by the armed police officers who have been identified as being stationed at Agege Abattoir Police Station.

After the event on Wednesday, the victim, @cashy0206, took to Twitter to claim that he had done no crime and that no drugs or other proof of a crime had been found on him. He claimed that his unwillingness to allow the authorities to inspect his phone constituted his offense.

He stated, “No drugs, nothing, no evidence, why asking for phone for no reason? ” in some of his brief explanations of what occurred. I have no idea why.

“They don’t actually have a reason; they just stopped and searched without any justification, and then they modified it to say, ‘Bring your phone,’ which is where it all began.

“Please bring me justice. We didn’t deserve this because, at 27 years old, we possess a car, which is an issue. They want us to be impoverished. Why are you hitting me when I didn’t hand over my phone?

One of the cops was named as infamous for similar illegal conduct by certain Twitter users who claimed to know the officers.

“Agege Abattoir Police Station officers b dis,” a Twitter user named @Booms883 wrote in pidgin English. I noticed all of these males moving in an unauthorized manner. They commute via the Korope minibus. It is known to their DPO. In reality, you’ll never see that short policeman in uniform driving that muscle car.

In response to the event, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the force’s public relations officer, instructed SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police’s public relations officer, to round up the officers for an investigation.

Adejobi additionally requested a direct text message from the victim because he needed to speak with him about something.

“Ben, pull these police officers aside for an investigation. Investigating this is necessary. Additionally, I ask the victim to send me an SMS because I need to speak with him or her directly. I’m curious about this revolting scenario or drama,” the Force PRO declared.
