La Liga is employing a lip-reading specialist to look into a remark that Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid is said to have made towards Mason Greenwood of Getafe during Thursday’s match.
Getafe “filed a formal complaint,” according to La Liga, and the team will “act based on hard evidence.”

Bellingham, an England international, tackled Greenwood during Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory, which sparked the confrontation.
Following the event, a video clip became popular on social media.
It’s unclear to whom Bellingham allegedly said the remarks.
“Yesterday, Getafe filed a formal complaint with the La Liga match director who, in accordance with standard procedure in such cases, has requested an expert lip-reading report to investigate the matter and act based on hard evidence,” La Liga said in a statement on Friday.
On September 1, Greenwood, 22, went on a season-long loan from Manchester United to Getafe.
United announced in August that following a six-month internal inquiry into his behaviour, the one-cap England international would depart the team by mutual consent.
It happened after the player’s charges—which included assault and attempted rape—were dropped in February.
With 21 appearances this season, Greenwood, whose contract at Old Trafford expires in 2025, has scored six goals.
Bellingham, 20, scored 18 goals in 27 games for Los Blancos since joining Real for 103 million euros (£88.5 million) in the summer.
