Musa Nuhu Yankaba claims that former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso and Governor Abba Yusuf are politically stranded, asserting that they currently have no party affiliation.

Musa Nuhu Yankaba, the ex-spokesperson for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano, has claimed that the NNPP with the fruit logo is authentic. In an interview with DCL Hausa, he declared that neither Kwankwaso nor Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf are still part of this party.

Recently, Kwankwaso guided several influential party members in updating the party’s logo to feature a book symbol. Yankaba highlighted that the Kano state government was elected under the party’s original emblem and urged leaders to unite and strive for the progress of the party.

He highlighted that an Abia state court, on November 1, 2024, had validated Boniface’s group as the legitimate leadership of the party. The ruling established him as both founder and rightful leader. Additionally, the court nullified previous activities such as changing the logo and electing new leaders; therefore Kwankwaso and Abba currently lack a political party connection.

“We have organized elections at different levels and remain aligned with the original NNPP that uses the fruit logo. We urge everyone, particularly those who are concerned about Kano, to rejoin our party,” stated Musa Nuhu Yankaba, former spokesperson of the NNPP featuring a fruit logo and now Secretary-General of the authentic NNPP.
