Kogi: Two monarchs receive staff of office from Bello

Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi State, delivered office staff on Friday to Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi, the 4th Maigari of Lokoja, and Dauda Kabir Isa, the Mayaki of Kupa.

During his speech, Bello encouraged the state’s traditional leaders to support Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration with the same fervour they showed for his own.

Bello pointed out that throughout his eight years in power, his administration documented the peaceful installation of seven traditional rulers.

Speaking on his colleague’s behalf, the newly appointed Maigari of Lokoja expressed gratitude to the people and the state government for making their appointment a reality.

He promised that they would not abuse the trust that the public placed in them.

During his reign, the Maigari pledged to give peace, education, and the growth of tourism first priority.

Numerous title holders, traditional rulers, and others from different social groups reportedly attended the event, according to Obasanjo News24.
