Kidnapping incident in Taraba involves traditional ruler and 21 others

In the Pupule hamlet of Yorro local government area in Taraba State, twenty-one people have been kidnapped, including Alhaji Umaru Nyala, the town’s third-class chief.

Highly armed assailants assaulted the town at 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, kidnapping them while firing sporadically throughout the neighbourhood.

A pregnant woman, family members, and the son of the third-class head and his security orderly were among the 22 people taken, an eyewitness told Channels Television.

In the series, kidnapping for ransom has occurred in the village three times in less than six months without the capture of a suspect.
