The controversy surrounding the death of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, and the paternity of his son, Liam Aloba, has been escalating. Oba Saheed Elegushi, the Elegushi of the Ikate Elegushi Kingdom in Lagos State, has denied rumors linking him to the paternity of Mohbad’s son.

In a statement released through his media consultant, Deyemi Saka, the monarch addressed the insinuations made by some social media users, dismissing them as a desperate attempt to tarnish his reputation by involving him in the paternity dispute of Liam.

Mohbad’s untimely death at the age of 27 in September 2023 led to protests in various parts of the country, with fans seeking justice for the former Marlian Records signee. Accusations and counter-accusations have emerged, including allegations of bullying by his former boss, Naira Marley, and associates.

The paternity of Mohbad’s son has come under scrutiny, especially after his father, Joseph Aloba, demanded a paternity test to confirm the late singer’s relationship with his grandson. Among the allegations was the claim that Oba Elegushi might be the father of Mohbad’s son.

Various social media posts, including those on TikTok, suggested the monarch’s involvement in Mohbad’s death and his attempts to obstruct justice. Oba Elegushi clarified that these accusations were unfounded and aimed at tarnishing his character, revealing that a petition has been filed against those spreading such claims.

In response to the recent allegations regarding the paternity dispute involving Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Elegushi, has issued a statement to address the matter. The statement emphasizes that the allegations are false and merely a product of the individuals’ malicious imaginations.

Oba Elegushi has taken legal action by filing a petition with the Nigeria Police and other relevant security agencies to protect his fundamental human rights and seek justice against cyber bullies.
