Kekere-Ekun Set to Swear In 87 New Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) on Monday”

As part of the events scheduled to officially inaugurate the 2024/2025 legal year of the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, will administer the oath to 87 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria on Monday in the main courtroom of the Court.
A statement released by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Festus Akande, on Friday indicated that the Chief Justice will present a state-of-the-Judiciary address aimed at emphasizing the achievements of the Supreme Court specifically, and the Nigerian Judiciary as a whole, during the 2023/2024 legal year.

Additionally, prominent figures within the Justice Sector will deliver speeches addressing the current state of justice in the country. This group includes the Honorable Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, the Chairman of the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN), and the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), among others.
The Supreme Court began its annual vacation on July 22, 2024.
Although the court resumed its sessions on September 23, 2024, the formal ceremony for the new legal year is being conducted in accordance with established traditions.
All events planned to celebrate the official start of the new legal year will commence at 10:00 am in the main courtroom of the Supreme Court, as stated.
