Kano Government Once Again Orders Bayero to Vacate Mini Palace
Following the Federal High Court’s ruling on Thursday, which nullified the process of repealing the Kano Emirates Council Law, the state government has instructed deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero to vacate Nassarawa Mini Palace.
During a press briefing, the Kano State Attorney General (AG), Haruna Isah Dederi, stressed the importance of refurbishing the property, which is under the ownership of the state government.
Dederi confirmed that the decision of the Kano High Court supports the actions taken by the state government, confirming Emir Muhammad Sanusi as the rightful emir of the esteemed Kano Emirate.
He mentioned that, in essence, Aminu Ado Bayero had unlawfully entered the Nassarawa Mini Palace.
On May 25, 2024, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had issued orders for the removal and apprehension of Bayero, citing his role in inciting unrest within the state following his dethronement. Despite this, security personnel, including soldiers and police officers, were stationed at the mini palace to prevent Bayero’s arrest.
