The Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC) has nominated 22 justices to the Supreme Court, and the National Judicial Council (NJC) has started the evaluation process.
Currently, the high-level screening is taking place at the NJC Boardroom with the arrival of some justices.
Before the final selection of 11 justices from among the 22 candidates going through screening to fill the open positions, the panel is expected to convene for around a week.
On November 16, Obasanjo News24 reported that 22 justices of the Court of Appeal were nominated by the Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC) to the National Judicial Council (NJC) for potential elevation to the Supreme Court.
Six of the nominees are from the North-Central region, while two nominees each are from the South-West and the South-South, according to the FJSC document with the 22 names.
While the North-East has two nominees, the South-East region has six as well.
