Junior Pope’s death confirmed by Actors Guild of Nigeria

The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, has sadly confirmed the passing of Nollywood actor, John Paul Odonwodo, also known as Junior Pope.

According to reports, Junior Pope and three of his colleagues were returning from a movie shoot when their boat capsized in the Anam River in Anambra.

Rollas took to his Instagram page to express his grief, mentioning that their initial excitement turned into sorrow when they realized their efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

It is a tragic loss for the Nigerian film industry, as Junior Pope had made a name for himself through his roles as a bodyguard, palace attendant, and servant in various movies.

He had acted in over 150 Nollywood films, including notable ones like “Secret Adventures” and “Bitter Generation.”

In recognition of his talent, he had received awards such as Nollywood Most Promising Actor in Nigeria and Best Actor in a Supporting Role at prestigious ceremonies.

His contributions to the industry will be greatly missed.
