Over 50,000 Nigerians participated in a massive pro-Palestine march on Sunday in Lagos, calling for justice for the Palestinian people and an end to Israel’s ongoing occupation of Gaza.

Participants from numerous Muslim organisations, civil society organisations, student groups, and Islamic experts attended the massive rally coordinated by the Conference of Islamic Organisations.

The demonstrators called for a halt to the killing of Palestinian civilians during the gathering, which was held under the sponsorship of the Conference of Islamic Organisations and featured many Arabic renditions.

Auwal Musa Rafsanjani from Amnesty International (AI) Nigeria and other members of the human rights sector were also there.

With slogans like “Nigeria Unites for Palestine, Support freedom and justice for the Palestinian nation;” the demonstrators carried placards and banners. Stop murdering infants and women who are innocent: Palestine would be liberated from the river to the sea; End the Siege in Gaza and Israeli racism against the Palestinians. A crime against humanity; without freedom, our freedom is insufficient.
