Investigation launched by NSIB into jet crash-landing at Ibadan airport

The inquiry into a crash-landing event involving a Flint Aero-operated HS25 aircraft at Ibadan airport in Oyo state has been initiated by the Nigerian Safety inquiry Bureau (NSIB).

According to the NSIB, “more information will be provided as soon as possible, and our investigators are on site.”

Dr. James Odaudu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the NSIB, says it’s still unclear what caused the occurrence.

On Friday, November 3, 2023, Adebayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power, took off from Abuja in a Flint Aero aircraft, but while reaching Ibadan, the aircraft crashed.

Based on information gathered by Tribune Online, the aircraft carried three crew members in addition to roughly ten passengers.

The aircraft took off from Abuja in 1841 and, at roughly 1921 UTC, crashed into a bush just short of the runway. There were no casualties, although the aeroplane was seriously damaged.
