Insecurity: Over 129,000 Boko Haram Terrorists and Family Members Surrender in Six Months

In a significant development, 129,417 Boko Haram fighters and their family members have surrendered to Nigerian authorities in the last six months, marking progress in combating insurgency.

The Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa, has announced that a total of 129,417 individuals associated with Boko Haram, including terrorists and their family members, have surrendered to security forces from July 10 to December 9, 2024.

This information was shared during the ongoing 18th Africa Security Watch Conference in Doha, Qatar, which is centered on the theme, ‘Developing Modules for People-Centric Governance Towards Enhancement of Peace and Security.’

The conference, which was monitored by Daily Trust, was organized by Mr. Patrick Agbambu of the Security Watch Africa Initiative.

General Musa indicated that this total includes 30,426 fighters, along with 36,774 women and 62,265 children.
