Important election materials are now being distributed to council areas by Nigeria’s electoral body, INEC

The winner of the election will succeed outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29, 2023 as president of Nigeria.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has started distributing sensitive electoral documents to its local government offices in advance of Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections.

The results of the election will select the future president of Nigeria, who will succeed outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29, 2023, as well as the House of Representatives and Senate members of the 10th National Legislature.

There were candidates for the Presidency and other electoral seats from 18 political parties.

Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress (AAC), Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are the candidates in the polls.

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), led by Rabiu Kwankwaso, is also one of them.

According to reports, INEC has started distributing the sensitive materials to the LGAs in Cross River, Calabar, and other southern Nigerian states, including South East and South South.

The distribution of sensitive election materials to local government offices across the state will start on Wednesday, according to information released on Monday by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Edo State.
