Imo Guber: INEC announces schedule for distribution of sensitive materials
All Registration Area Centres have been activated for the subsequent deployment of sensitive and non-sensitive materials tonight, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.
Mrs. Ben-Opara Emmanuella, the head of the Imo State INEC’s Department of Voter Education and Publicity, made this statement while discussing the state’s off-cycle governorship election preparations with reporters in Owerri tomorrow.
In order to enable the transportation of persons and supplies to all polling places, Ben-Opara emphasised that all materials have already been deployed to the twenty-seven INEC Local Government Offices and that vehicles rented from the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) are on the ground.

She stressed that all members of NURTW have been fully mobilised and that the arrangements for the ad hoc staff members involved in the exercise have been finalised.
She claims that these steps have been taken to guarantee that voting and accreditation start on time.
The INEC Head of Voter Education addressed the continuing organised labour protest, saying that it would not impact the way the polls were conducted because all arrangements had been finalised prior to the miscommunication between the State Government and the Labour Unions.
She urged locals not to harbour any fears because security companies have pledged to create a welcoming atmosphere for the duration of the procedure.
According to Ben-Opara, security authorities have identified all flashpoints and deployed personnel appropriately.
She called on all who could vote to cast their ballots.
