According to former President Goodluck Jonathan, if Governor Douye Diri had not won reelection, he would have moved his mother from Bayelsa State to Abuja.

According to Jonathan, Bayelsa State will be safer as a result of Diri’s election because of the governor’s commitment to addressing insecurity.

He was speaking while on a visit to Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, at Diri.

The former president claimed that if Diri had lost, the progress made in combating the state’s insecurity would have been undone.

“We fervently hope that the electorate will concede the governor’s victory and cooperate with him. Let’s all lend him our support so that the state can advance.

Nothing that would cause the state to regress should be allowed. We ought to consider the state’s evolution, beginning with the problem of peace and security. There have been notable advancements in the previous three years concerning abduction, cultism, and other related issues.
