On Wednesday, the All Progressives Congress (APC) asserted that President Bola Tinubu does not require reintroduction and neither does he have an identity crisis.

It was in response to a remark made earlier in the day by Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party in the 2023 election, while speaking at a news conference.

Mr. Obi focused on Mr. Tinubu’s academic achievements from Chicago State University during his press conference.

“President Tinubu does not require a reintroduction since he lacks any identity issues other of the one created by Peter Obi and former PDP vice presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar. At his news conference, Obi merely read from a script written by Atiku, according to an APC statement from Felix Morka, his spokesman. “Like a garbled voice note of Atiku Abubakar, Obi blathered on about President Tinubu’s identity and academic records at his press conference on Wednesday.”

“He cut a pitiful profile as though forced to read a prepared statement by his unimaginative handlers and dishonest associates in the PDP,” the ruling party continued. Obi went on Atiku’s bandwagon to slake his insatiable appetite for cheap media attention because he didn’t want to lose out on the campaign of slander on Tinubu’s Chicago State University diploma.

It was pointed out that Mr. Obi’s initiative came after his Labour Party had distanced itself from the former vice president’s call for action. The APC stressed that Mr. Obi requested Mr. Tinubu reintroduce himself to Nigerians as if the 8.9 million Nigerians who supported him in the presidential election in February were uninformed of their decision.

The party added that Mr. Tinubu’s exceptional record and accomplishments as a proponent of democracy, freedom, and social and economic justice for more than three decades were and continue to be known to Nigerians who voted him into office.

“President Tinubu is known to Nigerians as a well-versed professional who served as the company’s auditor and treasurer when it was Mobil Nigeria, now ExxonMobil. The president is well-known among Nigerians as a former senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, where he presided over the important finance and appropriations committee. “They recognise him as the previous governor of Lagos State who planned and laid the foundation for the development and prosperity of the state’s current economy, the fifth largest in Africa. Nigerians are aware of who they chose to lead the Federal Republic of Nigeria as its 16th president and commander-in-chief.

The ruling party claims that Nigerians supported Mr. Tinubu because they had complete faith and confidence in him to restructure the nation’s economy in the best interests of all citizens.

“Beyond regaling Nigerians with false and embarrassing statistics for which he had gained notoriety, Peter Obi cannot be said to be known for any outstanding performance, even as governor of Anambra for eight years,” the statement continued.

“Peter Obi has no commendable legacy standing in his name,” it was remarked. Except for those who are politically tainted by the trauma of electoral defeat, the facts of President Tinubu’s academic record at Chicago State University are undisputed.

Messrs. Abubakar and Obi were accused by the APC of engaging in public deception and acting as accusers and judges for their “base cause.”

The APC condemned Obi, Atiku, and their supporters for their despicable attempts to intimidate the judiciary, encourage violence in the public, and degrade justices of the Appeal and Supreme Courts using traditional media and social media.

“We urge all well-meaning Nigerians to condemn this anti-democratic and reckless behaviour of both political naggers,” the statement continued. For the record, it is recommended that our legal team look into all court options for prosecuting Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar for their ongoing disrespectful behaviour.
