Babachir Lawal, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), posted a picture of his farm on social media over the weekend.

The lawmaker from Adamawa, who was removed from office as SGF by then-President Muhammadu Buhari in 2017 over accusations of corruption, claimed he was worn out from the farming efforts over the weekend and had to turn to the juice and “Akara” that were readily available.

Angry today on the farm. 5-alive and Akara come to the rescue. In a post on his thousands-follower Facebook page, Lawan said, “I can’t kill myself abeg.”

The former All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, who actively supported Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi in the general election of 2023, stated he was content in his Kwambla village in another tweet from three days prior in which he was spotted collecting sugarcane.

This is me having fun in Kwambla, my community. Here, there is no poverty nor election tampering,” he declared.

Remember that in an interview with reporters in 2018, Lawan said that his income from farming surpassed that of his old government job.

“After returning to my farm and reactivating it following my sack, I was earning N930,000, 000 per month as the SGF. Now, I have 4,000 hectares under cultivation.

“I am back in IT consulting, I have a cattle ranch that I am slowly building, and I made around half a billion naira from my farm earnings last year. Life is excellent right now. The former outspoken SGF was cited as saying, “Everything that happens to a man is for his own good; my sack, I would say, is rather a blessing in disguise.”
