Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the newly elected president, congratulated Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike on Wednesday for helping him win the presidential election on February 25.

According to Obasanjonews24, Wike’s determination that the presidency must return to the Southern party of the nation was one of the factors that assured Tinubu’s victory. Wike remarked on Wednesday at the opening of the Rumuokwuta/Rumuola flyover in Port Harcourt.

Wike was praised by the President-elect as a guy of integrity who put the good of the country ahead of his own interests.

The former governor of Lagos claimed that despite the rumors and speculation that were spread about Wike during the campaign, Wike remained steadfast in his beliefs.

“Nyesom, I say thank you for your part in my victory,” he remarked. Without some structural backing, I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish this. I see a guy of principles in Wike.

“He had the fortitude to stick by his convictions, disregarding those who were against him, and he took a good position that the presidency must return to the South.

“Wike is a man of immense integrity; he chose to serve the internet of the country rather than his own interests. You encouraged harmony and justice.

“There was a lot of rumors and conjecture, but you stood your ground.”
