On Thursday, Kamala Harris received the Democratic presidential nomination and addressed an enthusiastic gathering of supporters proclaiming that she would lead them in “forging a path towards new possibilities.”

The vice president stated, “I acknowledge your nomination on behalf of all individuals – every American who transcends party affiliations, race or gender; including those whose grandmothers speak a different language.”

Harris recognized that not every listener was a follower and stated the upcoming November election against Donald Trump presents an invaluable moment to transcend past animosity, distrust, and divisive conflicts. It provides an opportunity to carve out a new path ahead – united as Americans without any political affiliations or fractions.
