Hackers Take Over Hisbah’s Facebook Page, Post Explicit Videos
Hisbah’s official Facebook page was hacked, resulting in the posting of explicit content. Authorities are investigating the incident to restore control and remove inappropriate material.
The official Facebook page of the Kano State Hisbah Board has been hacked by individuals who uploaded explicit photos and videos, leading to widespread public outrage.
Many have expressed their concern about the incident that happened on Wednesday, leading to widespread condemnation.
On Friday, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, the Commander General of the Hisbah Board, verified to reporters that a breach had occurred and assured them that measures are being taken to resolve it.
Daurawa stated that the Hisbah Board of Kano State has been made aware of the hacking incident on its Facebook page and is concerned about inappropriate content being shared. He called upon members of the public to extend support in addressing this issue.
He gave his word to the public that the ICT team of the board is putting in active efforts to retrieve control over their page and engaging with Meta for resolution.
Daurawa encouraged the community to report the affected page to Meta in English as a means of limiting dissemination of objectionable material.
Sani Zailani, the Head of ICT department at Hisbah Board stated that hackers had attacked their account previously and they have taken action by contacting Meta about this security breach. According to reports, Meta has given assurance to resolve the issue within 48 hours.
Zailani conveyed appreciation for the backing of the community and underscored that endeavors are in progress to retrieve the page and reinstate regular activities.
