Gunmen’s attack on Ebonyi police station results in five feared dead
Unidentified gunmen launched a fierce attack on the Ishieke Police Division in the Ebonyi local government area of Ebonyi State on Wednesday night.
Five of the unidentified gunmen were apparently shot and killed by the police during the gunfight.
According to information obtained by Obasanjonews.com, the firing began at around 9:30 p.m., sending the locals into hiding.
According to one of the informants, Mr. Tony Nwori, the shooters pulled up to the police station in two automobiles and began firing intermittently into the air.
Before additional security personnel arrived for reinforcement, he claimed that the shooters and the on-duty officers in front of the station engaged in a gunfight that lasted more than 30 minutes.

An further source claims that the Army and other security personnel became aware of the situation and arrived in large numbers to capture the miscreants.
“They continued shooting on the air while moving to Odomoke Ishieke market along Nwiboko Obodo road in Ebonyi Council Area,” the source stated.
As of the time this report was filed, Joshua Ukandu, the Police Public Relations Officer, was not responding to texts sent to him and his phone was unreachable, thus all attempts to obtain police confirmation were unsuccessful.
Some of the alleged thugs were shown being shot dead in a widely shared video.
